Position: Financial/Accounting Administrative Assistant (Maternity Leave Coverage)


Organization: Rural Municipality of Paddockwood No. 520


Employment Type: Full-Time, Term Position (Undefined Duration)

The Rural Municipality of Paddockwood No. 520 is actively seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional to fill a term position covering a maternity leave. This role is essential to the daily financial operations of the municipality. The successful candidate will begin employment prior to the leave commencement to ensure a sufficient overlap period for training and knowledge transfer.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Processing:     Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR),      including invoicing, receipting, and vendor payments.
  • General Ledger: Assist with journal entries, bank reconciliations, and the maintenance of accurate financial records.
  • Payroll: Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with employment standards and internal policies.
  • Administrative Support:     Provide professional administrative assistance to the Administrator and Council, including reception duties, correspondence, and filing.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting (AP, AR, GL) is required. Experience with payroll processing is highly beneficial.
  • Municipal Background:  Previous experience working within a municipal office environment is      considered a significant asset.
  • Technical Skills:  Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.  Familiarity with municipal accounting software (e.g., Munisoft) is preferred.
  • Attributes: Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain strict confidentiality, and excellent      communication skills.

The RM offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, this position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
